Nollywood actress and philanthropist, Tonto Dikeh is showing solidarity with her colleague and friend, Iyabo Ojo who is in the midst of an N500 million lawsuit from embattled singer, Naira Marley.
Esabod Global News reported on Thursday, last week that Azeez Adeshina Fashola professionally known as Naira Marley had dragged Iyabo to court, demanding a public apology from the controversial actress or risk facing legal proceedings which could amount to N500 million as damages.
In his lawsuit, Naira accused the mother of two of defaming him, alleging that the actress published false and malicious content about him on her Instagram page.
Reacting to it, Iyabo filed a N1 billion counterclaim, noting how the singer through his lawyer never found it worthwhile to serve her the lawsuit privately, rather it was being disseminated online.
Calling it blackmail, the movie star is demanding N1 billion from the singer for deliberately misleading the public.
Taking to her Instagram page to show solidarity with her, Tonto stated that they started together and would end it together.
“We started together, we end it together.
Regardless”.
Tonto Dikeh isn’t the only celebrity, who has shown support for Iyabo. Ufuoma McDermott had poured praises on Iyabo, listing out her imperfections which are crowned by her good heart. She stated that Iyabo Ojo always has her utmost respect now and always.
Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of Iyabo, had taken to her defense, noting how Naira was yet to resolve issues of Mohbad’s catalog and unpaid royalties, yet was filing a lawsuit against her mother.
Blasting him for his audacity, she pointed out his hypocrisy of suing her mother, when there are videos of him bullying Mohbad before his untimely demise.
She went on to slam Nigerians for calling her mother a clout chaser because of her fight for Mohbad and how they are reading meaning to her content on the Real Housewives of Lagos reality show.
Also taking to her defense, her lover, Paul Okoye, stated that his lover didn’t say anything bad about Naira Marley.
He made it known that he had listened to all the things that Ojo said and there was no defamation of Nara Marley’s character in it.
The talent management added that his lover’s lawyer would contact the singer. And if they cannot resolve the case amicably, they would end up in the law court and it would be settled over there.
