This video release comes in the wake of recent criticisms aimed at Iyabo Ojo for her conduct on the reality show “Real Housewives of Lagos.” She has been accused of bullying fellow housemates, Faith Morey and Laura Ikeji, during the show. In one of the episodes, Iyabo Ojo even acknowledged her tendency to bully those she dislikes, stating that she doesn’t mind being labeled as a bully.

The timing of the video’s release led to speculation among some netizens that it might be a strategic move to divert attention from the controversy surrounding her alleged bullying behavior. They suggest that showcasing a romantic relationship could shift the focus from the negative publicity.

Interestingly, this development contrasts with Iyabo Ojo’s stance in August 2023, when she defended Big Brother Naija contestant IleBaye against bullying. At the time, she expressed admiration for Ile Baye’s emotional control and appealed to the Big Brother Naija organizers not to evict her.
