Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Bella Shmurda has stirred the internet with his bold statement about Olamide.
In a recent interview, the singer recounted his experience as an upcoming artiste in the music industry. He credited Olamide for paving the way for him, as he declared Olamide as the biggest success in the music industry, going as far as to crown him ‘number one’.
Bella recounted how the YBNL founder helped him when he was upcoming and how he stood by him during his tough days. He went on to state that if his children asked him who had a more significant impact on his life, he would mention Olamide before thinking of his mother.
“That’s Olamide Baddo, just him. I’m telling you to be sincere, I’m not telling you this because I am part of his branch.
I’m saying out of what I’ve seen, what I have known, this man stayed back and properly put most of us young artists in a proper position, in a proper space.
“Even if my child grows up and is like ‘Daddy who helped you become something’, I would first say Baddo first before I even remember that I have a mother. I’m telling you to be sincere so I feel like Olamide Baddo is number one over anybody”.
Over the years, Olamide has become highly respected for paving the way for many upcoming artists. The likes of Fireboy, Zlatan, Asake, and more all rose to fame because of him.
Just a few days back, Asake had recounted how Olamide advised him to dump his girlfriend when he became a star. Sharing his story, he expressed how excited he was to have listened to Olamide’s advice, which has made him more financially successful.
This wasn’t the first time, Asake has spoken out on Olamide’s impact in his life. An old video that resurfaced online captured the epic moment Asake burst into tears when Olamide jumped on one of his songs and made him a signee under the YBNL record label. Recalling the mindblowing incident, Asake revealed how one phone call from Olamide changed his career.
Legendary singer, 2baba also gave flowers to Olamide, praising him for being a real one, a trailblazer, a humble cr@zy gentle rugged, and super-talented African Giant. He noted how Olamide is a true blessing to many and the entire movement and is also very focused.
As a result of his many impacts, Daniel Regha advocated for him in the music industry, as he noted how Olamide has impacted many artists’ careers, yet was been underrated. He stated that when it comes to paving the way for his colleagues, no one from his set comes close, but he is barely given due credit.
