A few days back, while celebrating Mohbad’s mother as she turned 50, Iyabo made it known that she had backed down from Mohbad’s case.

Though she didn’t give reasons, she stated that it hurts her that the late singer couldn’t get his deserved justice.

Her backing down cane was a surprise as she had pledged to him, vowing that no matter how hard people try, or the distraction/storm that comes their way, she and other concerned citizens will never give up.

Recently, Iyabo Ojo had called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and security agencies over the safety of the mother of Mohbad’s mother, Mrs Abosede.

According to Iyabo, Mohbad’s mother has been subjected to harassment, stalking, and bullying, which should not be allowed, especially for someone still mourning her son.

Speaking further, she stated that every Nigerian is allowed to feel safe in the confines of their homes, but Mohbad’s mother’s situation has been different.

Refreshing your memory, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12.

After his death, Iyabo Ojo was at the fore front of those clamoring for the late singer to get justice. Her support for him drew several criticisms and reacting to it, Iyabo boldly declared that she would continue to speak her truth no matter the narrative they draw about her and the hate she receives. She stated that she would rather die a fearless, bold, and courageous woman who speaks & fights for justice for Nigeria to be better.
