The House of Representatives has asked the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, to suspend its introduction of the new electricity tariff.
This was contained in a resolution approved by the House of Representatives during its plenary session on Tuesday.
It was subsequent to the enactment of a motion addressing pressing public concerns.
The proposal was put forth by Nkemkanma Kama, a legislator representing the Labour Party (LP) from Enonyi state.
