“Still a work in progress” – Elegushi celebrates 14 years of coronation


The Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Shared Ademola Elegushi has shared a new photo online to mark his 14 years of coronation.

The king shared a picture of himself on his Instagram page. The shared photo captured Elegushi sitting proudly with his crown depicting a fierce king.

The king reflected on his journey so far which began 14 years ago with uncertainty. He applauded the efforts of his people and their achievements which is as a result of God’s grace.

“The journey that started on this day, 14 years ago, with so much uncertainty, has become the focal point of transformational leadership.

I won’t take all the glory of how well we’ve fared as a people; rather, our modest achievements lie in the grace we enjoy from the Almighty and our ancestors.

It is 14 years and counting, but it’s still a work in progress because our best for Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom and humanity in general is yet to come.

Join me, as I celebrate the 14th Year Anniversary of my Coronation.

To God, indeed be all the glory.”

Recall that in 2023 there was a rumour that claimed the King’s first wife, Queen Sekinat died while undergoing a BBL surgery. The palace later updated worried netizens on the state of the queen’s life days after addressing her BBL surgery rumours.

A new statement claimed the queen is hale and hearty and blogger Kemi Ashefon confirmed this in a phone call to the Queen, who denied the rumours about her death.

The rumours about the elegant queen’s death were allegedly circulated by one London-based Nigerian blogger, Abike Jagaban, who claimed the Queen’s aunt announced her death to her amidst tears!

Esabod Global News reported that controversial gossip blogger, Cutie Julls had alleged that the famous wife of the monarch was battling for her dear life overseas.

According to the blog, she underwent BBL surgery, but unfortunately for her, things didn’t go as she planned as she is allegedly battling for her life.

Though the blog didn’t mention the name, many decoded that she was referring to Olori Sekinat.

Addressing the rumours in a press release by the palace on Monday, the royal family described the rumours as the wicked imagination of the authors.

According to the statement, the senior wife of the long is hale and hearty and going about her royal business.

The Palace also appreciated friends and family members of the monarch for their concern and love.

It added that legal action would be taken against anyone peddling false rumours about the royal family.
