Toyin Abraham preaches against competition, as she set to make magic with former rival, Funke Akindele

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has spoken out on the pitfalls of competition as she set to star in an upcoming project with former rival, Funke Akindele.

Esabod Global News reported days back that for the first time, Toyin Abraham is set to star in a movie with Funke Akindele. The two role interpreters would be on House of Ga’a, a period film about the life of the infamous Bashorun Ga’a, which would be streamed on Netflix before the end of 2024.

Following the news which has created excitement among their fans, Toyin took to her Instagram page to preach against competition.

Sharing several photos of her rocking jeans on her Instagram page, she admonished her fans to avoid competition. Giving a reason, she stated that competition is a weakness.

“Don’t compete. Competition is a weakness”.

Recall that for years Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele were beefing after they both chose the same date, September 10, 2021, to release their movies; ‘Ghost and the Tout Too’ in the cinemas and ‘Omo Ghetto the Saga’ on Netflix. Iyabo Ojo further fueled the rivalry by calling out Funke days after the movies were released, for paying a popular movie citric to ruin Toyin’s movie.

However, the two ladies settled their differences as Toyin Abraham celebrated Funke on her birthday last year and she reciprocated.

Also, Toyin had attended Funke Akindele’s movie premiere, She Just Be Obeyed, which further shut down any rumors of animosity between the box office Queens.

Weeks back, Toyin Abraham had blocked an influencer for comparing her with Funke Akindele.

An X influencer, Adetutu Balogun irked the actress when she mockingly compared her victory at the box office with Funke Akindele and Mercy Aigbe’s victory, stating that Funke will forever be the boss. Following this Toyin had clicked the block button on her and she had lamented over it.

To add to it, Toyin had allegedly fallen out with her proteges, as she parted ways with her Malaika star, Abike Shuga.

Esabod Global News first noticed their relationship had deteriorated when Abike Shuga was noticeably missing in many of Malaika’s campaigns and Toyin Abraham stopped promoting her heavily on her social media page.

Esabod Global News did further research and noticed Toyin Abraham had unfollowed her on Instagram, meanwhile, Abike Shuga was still following the mother of one.

According to reports online, Abike had refused to promote Malaika after it was released stating that she didn’t beg to be featured in the movie, which left Toyin disappointed. To make it worse, Abike who is a fan of Funke Akindele had shared a video of her unboxing her invite to the premiere of A Tr!be Called Judah.
