“He was someone that helped me” Portable’s babymama, Ashabi mourns Akintoye Benson, recounts his generous acts


Omobolarinde Akinyanju better known as Ashabi has reacted to the news of the demise of Akintoye Benson, the aide to former NURTW boss, MC Oluomo.


Esabod Global News reported hours ago that Akintoye Benson had died in a ghastly car accident.


According to reports, the deceased who was an assistant to MC Oluomo had died after being involved in a ghastly car accident on Thursday night, March 7th, 2024 on Third Mainland Bridge.


Reacting to the news of his death, Ashabi stated that when she saw the news on Bimbo Success’s Instagram page, she didn’t know it was him.


She revealed that the deceased was a helper to her, as he allowed her to shoot her movie in his house. According to her, she and her crew ate, drank, and emptied his fridge and yet he didn’t complain and would always restock it.

Noting how no one can question God, she prayed for his Maker to forgive his sins and make his soul rest in perfect peace.

Mourning him, Bimbo Success took to her Instagram page to share a deep message about life, stating that there is nothing in life. She noted how life is vanity upon vanity.


Expressing pain over the death of one Toye, she begged her Maker to have Mercy on her and others.


Nkechi Blessing, on her part, had alerted drivers about the danger of the new 3rd Mainland Bridge. She revealed that though she appreciates the people in charge of reconstructing the 3rd Mainland Bridge, she can categorically say that the new bridge is dangerous and is more like a death trap.


Despite her driving experience, she almost had an accident two nights ago and she wasn’t speeding, and to make it worse, she lost her friend, Akintoye on that same bride. Expressing how heartbroken she was, she admonished road users to avoid speeding on the bride as she bade farewell to him.


Last week, Nollywood was hit with two losses. On Friday, Yoruba actor, Sisi Quadri’s untimely demise was announced by his colleague Tunde Olayusuf on Instagram.


The actor passed away after he was rushed to the hospital in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State, after suffering persistent hiccups which were caused by kidney-related issues.


On Saturday, according to Islamic rites, Sisi Quadri was laid to rest in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State.


As Sisi Quadri was been laid to rest, Veteran actor, Mr Ibu gave up the ghost at Evercare Hospital. The actor who has been battling for his life for months, had kicked the bucket following a cardiac arrest.


His death threw the industry into mourning as he was the beloved of many and had made our childhood memorable.
