Joseph Aloba, the father of late award-winning singer, Mohbad has recounted the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
The singer’s father had made an appearance as a guest of the Brekete Family show, where he reiterated that he met his son already embalmed with a soak cloth in his house.
According to him, his late son was already embalmed before he was informed of his death and when he got to the house, he met his son’s lifeless body under the staircase.
“I received a call from Mohbad’s mother at 4 p.m. She said our son is sick and I should come immediately. She said he was already well and we should go back home. As an eldérly person and as a father, based on what he has been hearing, I told his mother that he was already dead. For over 10 minutes his mother held me tightly, and I told her it was what he got that had killed him.
I said let’s go back home and when we got there, it was already 10 pm. When I got there, people were already plenty. I just entered his house and went straight to the room where we always meet, but when I got there, I saw a bedsheet that had already been soaked in blood.
When I saw his body, which was already under the staircase, I saw that he was already embalmed in a local way”.
Last week, Mohbad’s father raised questions over his late son’s will, questioning a 26-year-old could have done a thumbprinted will. He expressed disbelief at how his son, who was well educated could do a thumbprinted will, rather than sign it.
Challenging the will, Joseph Aloba stated that he believes the document was doctored and is fake. He also pointed out how a lawyer was present at Mohbad’s house, and not even a doctor when the news of his death broke out.
His son’s management had tackled him as they debunked reports of a will. His management made it known that there is no will, neither is there a thumbprint document and urged his father and others to refrain from sharing false and misleading statements.
Two weeks back, Joseph Aloba made a strong allegation against his son’s wife, Wunmi, and lawyer, Femi Falana.
In an interview with MAX FM, Joseph alleged that his life had been threatened by his daughter-in-law and her lawyers. Crying out for help, he claimed that he didn’t know where to live as Wunmi and Femi Falana were threatening to eliminate him.
Refreshing your memory, Mohbad a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12. Following his death, videos made rounds of him being bullied by his former boss and his members. The Nigeria Police are still trying to unravel the mystery behind his death.
Marking his first post-humous birthday in the first week of January, he described his death as a very sad day and expressed how saddened he was to celebrate his dead son.
The prophet noted how he used to celebrate his son’s birthday every year, but unfortunately, he can’t celebrate his birthday anymore.
