Award-winning superstar singer, Ayodeji Balogun popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid has returned to Instagram.

The singer, who withdrew from the spotlight after his mother’s death, is back on social media.

The singer made his first public statement hours ago with a message to his late mother expressing his love for her.

“Love you my everything”, he wrote.

The Grammy singer lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun to the cold hands of death on Friday, August 18th.

In a video that made rounds online, Wizkid was seen looking downcast at her candle night procession.

In a live video shared by his sister, he was seen looking forlorn and close to tears with his head bowed.

The star artist had stepped back from the limelight and social media following her demise.

Also during his mother’s night of tribute, the singer, who seems to have been very close to his mother before her demise, broke down as he gave an emotional speech at her funeral.

He admitted that the pain is profound and it hurts deeply. According to him, it is the deepest pain he has ever felt in his life.

The Grammy singer stated that he is lost but he prays God will comfort every one of them.

His mother was given a befitting burial which had in attendance several celebrities.

Celebrities came out in large numbers to honor the deceased.
