In a significant update regarding the investigation into the tragic death of Ilorioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, has turned himself in to the police.
This development comes after the Lagos State Police Command had declared Primeboy wanted for failing to respond to their invitation.
Primeboy had been summoned by the police as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise. The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement confirming the development.
The statement released yesterday had described Primeboy as a male individual approximately 1.64 meters tall, with a dark complexion, tribal marks, and of Yoruba ethnicity. His last known address was 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu. The statement also provided a contact number for anyone with information about his whereabouts to reach out to the police.
Notably, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, announced a reward of N1,000,000 for anyone who could assist in locating Primeboy. This incentive underscored the seriousness of the investigation and the authorities’ determination to bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
It appears that Primeboy, who is not only a close friend of Mohbad but also a childhood friend, took it upon himself to come forward to the police. He had played a significant role in confirming Mohbad’s tragic passing.
On the evening of September 12th, Primeboy had shared a video showing Mohbad’s lifeless form in the backseat of a car. With tears streaming down his face, he had uttered the heartbreaking words, “Mohbad is dead,” marking the initial confirmation of the artist’s demise.
After the video, he had disappeared from the spotlight. His disappearance spoke volumes even in the midst of rising controversies. This led people to question his whereabouts. Their was also an agitation for him to help in the investigation process since he was one of the last people seen with Mohbad.
