Fast-rising singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable Omoolalomi has faulted Nigerians for celebrating the Super Eagles win against South Africa.
It is no longer news that the Super Eagles defeated South Africa on Wednesday in the semi-final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
Following the victorious win, Portable has slammed Nigerians for focusing on football rather than the predicament in the country.
He noted how the roads are bad, the environment is bad, dollars are on the rise, there is hunger in the country, and more, yet we are celebrating Super Eagles. He stated that the majority who are celebrating the Super Eagles victory haven’t eaten and some even spent their last cash to watch the match.
He added that the energy channeled into football should be used to curb the hunger and hardship in the country.
“How many of you have eaten to your satisfaction? Dollar don high, situation no good, road no good, we have bad road and bad environment. Hungry wan kill us, so what is making you happy? You are shouting ‘Up Nigeria ‘, wetin go up in Nigeria? So make the economy dey rise dey go? Make hungry dey rise. What is making you happy? Is it the cup you want to eat?
The energy you guys are using to do Up Super Eagles, why can’t you use it to chase hunger away? Don’t worry o, go carry your last card watch football.
The energy you guys use to come out for football, use it to come out for government, fire them, drag them. Na so una promote Grammy, we didn’t win, now we are promoting football, May God allow us win it. Come out and block the roads, and stop sapa”.
Meanwhile, Nollywood actor turned clergyman, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya had mocked South Africans using their popular song by Tyla, Water.
Consoling them, Pastor Jimmy made a remix of their artiste, Tyla’s Water, which he dedicated to them, though he admitted that though they played a good game, Nigerians had to win.
He stated that if there is any consolidation for their loss, it would be the Grammy Water. However, he would keep praying for them.
Many celebrities like Deyemi Okanlawon, Juliana Olayode, Omowunmi Dada, Uche Jombo, and more flooded his comment section.
Also, singer, Kizz Daniel had pledged to fly a fan to the UK following Super Eagles win.
The fan had taken to the micro-blogging platform to plead with the singer to fly him to his next show in the UK if the Super Eagles win and surprisingly, Kizz Daniel had agreed.
Following Nigerians’ victory, Kizz Daniel had urged the fan to go get his Visa ready as he is flying him to the UK.
