Last year, while counting down to his birthday, Lateef reflected on his humble beginnings, as he revealed that he was once paid N5000 for a lead role.
Lateef revealed that the journey and story of his life has never been smooth but his inner Abeokuta and Lagos spirit never gave up.
He recounted how he was just a helpless young boy who did his things and made people laugh unintentionally. The unintentional act opened doors for him as he was picked up in secondary school by a non-governmental organization.
In November, Lateef Adedimeji reintroduced himself to the world after he was honored with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Arts and Culture.
According to the University, the award was to celebrate him for his exceptional talent and tremendous achievement in the movie industry.
Adedimeji revealed that he was moved to tears as he was adorned with the beautiful robe, as he has never been interested in fame, and only wanted to be happy in his craft and the lives that he aspires to. He noted the irony of how he burned midnight candles to master his lines and perfect his expression, now he is getting rewarded with a Ph.D.
