Folarin had a closed-door meeting with Akanbi at his Jericho residence, where they all agreed to work together for the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Investigations further revealed that the APC governorship candidate also had a similar meeting with Balogun in his Ikolaba residence on Wednesday where they reached a compromise to work for the success of the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Folarin.
The PUNCH reported that Folarin and some party chieftains parted away shortly after the outcome of the governorship and senatorial primaries that produced him and Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as governorship and Oyo South Senatorial candidates respectively.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has declared his support for the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Folarin.
Dare, while featuring on a political programme in Ibadan, said he would team up with other party chieftains to ensure that APC wins all elections in the state.
We have a better candidate in Oyo State. And I have no doubt in my mind that he would defeat the incumbent.
He was the leader of the state and he is a three-term senator.
“Over the years, he has garnered needed leadership experiences that can be deployed in making things work for good in our state.
“I am with him and there is no doubt about that. We may have a point where we disagree but that is normal in politics.
“We have discussed and discovered that we all need to work together. We were in government for eight years and we shouldn’t have lost the state but for division. I think we have all learnt our lessons,” he stated.
