Tears as Nigerian movie producer Kayode Peters dies in Canada

Nollywood has lost another of its own, Kayode Peters.

According to reports, the Nigerian film and stage producer died in Canada. His colleague, Steve Onu, popularly known as Yaw, confirmed his demise on Friday, telling Peoples Gazette he was still trying to reach Peters’ brother for more information.

Yes, he is dead.
I am still trying to speak with his brother, but he isn’t picking up”.

The circumstances of his death are yet to be ascertained at the time of reporting.

Just last week, the Yoruba Nollywood industry was thrown into mourning following the death of their colleague, Berry White, who slumped and died in her house. The news of her demise was made known by her colleague, Bakare Zainab, via her Instagram page.

Two weeks back, Kiekie, had lost a dear friend. She described the deceased as a sister as she declared June 6th, the worst day of her life. Kiekie said it was hard for her as she revealed that her heart had been torn out since the news. She noted how Adepero made her the godmother to her first child, unknowingly, that a day like this would come when she would have to become the child’s mother.

Last month, it was announced that plus-sized model Monalisa Stephen was dead. The Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi, made the sad news known on his Instagram page. He revealed that she died on Tuesday, May 13th, in Lagos after battling with low blood sugar and internal bleeding.

In March, Nollywood lost a veteran, Nkechi Nweje. According to reports, the movie star died after a brief illness.

A month before Nkechi’s death, Nollywood lost a veteran and an academia, Columbus Irisoanga. His colleague, Hilda Dokubo, posted the sad news on her Instagram page, expressing how heartbroken and heavy her heart was over the bad news.
