LOBATAN: Nigeria can’t continue to be Father Christmas to neighbouring countries – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu said Nigeria can not continue to be a Father Christmas to the neighbouring countries in the guise of subsidy on the premium motor spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol.
Tinubu stated this at a meeting with the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) at Aso Rock on Friday.

President Tinubu Signs Electricity Act 2023 Into Law
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assented to the Electricity Act 2023 which was initially passed by lawmakers in July 2022.
The Electricity Act will replace the Electricity and Power Sector Reform Act of 2005. It provides a framework to guide the post-privatization phase of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) as well as encourage private sector investments in the sector.

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a former Speaker of Ekiti House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi, and one Tajero Adebayo in the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre over cases involving fraud and attempted murder.
Olugbemi, 48, and Adebayo, 42, whose addresses were not given, are facing a four-count of conspiracy, fraud, attempted murder and threat of violence.
