BREAKING: Three gunned down as thugs disrupt election, snatch BVAS in Benue

At least three persons suspected to be political thugs have been killed in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

DAILY POST gathered that the thugs invaded the polling units 026 and 004, Gboko South while electoral processes were ongoing and attempted to snatch ballot boxes and the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS.

An eye-witness, Moses Agure-Dam who confirmed the development to DAILY POST, said the thugs were gunned down by military officers.

Popular American movie star, Lance Reddick dies at 60

An American movie actor in the popular movie series ‘The Wire’, Lance Reddick has died at the age of 60, BBC reports.

The deceased was also known for starring as Charon in the John Wick action-thriller movie franchise as well as in the Resident Evil Netflix series and the science fiction-action movie Godzilla vs. Kong.

Reddick’s publicist, Mia Hansen told newsmen that the actor died suddenly of natural causes on Friday in his Los Angeles home at about 09:30 local time (16:30 GMT).

Fake DSS officer remanded for defrauding prophet, others

An Ondo Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 46-year-old man, Ebenezer Adefehinti, for allegedly defrauding three people under the pretext of securing jobs for their children.

The defendant was said to have claimed to be an official of the Department of State Services.

He was arrested by in June 2022 at Ayegun Oka Akoko in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

He was arraigned on five counts.

 


The police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Omhenemhen, told the court that Adefehinti, with the intent to defraud members of the public, falsely represented himself as an official of the DSS.
